Now then! What race will your character be? There's a few to choose from, and each has their own benefits and downfalls.

Human: Well, here's the bare bones. Most CCG agents and investigators are humans, and they can accomplish great things when they set their minds to it. Due to their inherent versatility, humans get an extra 3 stat points upon character creation.

Ghoul: Ghouls are a carnivorous and cannibalistic species that are only able to feed on humans and other ghouls. They are as close to humans as possible: They normally have the same physical appearance and intelligence as a human with the exception of diet, mentality, and inner biology. Ghouls have a higher number of Rc cells in their bodies, giving them two unique traits: the kakugan and Kagune. The kakugan manifests itself as red eyes with a black schlera, and the Kagune is a predatory organ unique to each ghoul. As they are specialized for hunting humans, they gain a +2 to a single attribute dependent upon their Kagune type. This bonus only lasts as long as their Kagune is active.

Half-Human: A half-human is a human-ghoul hybrid with mostly human-like traits. They are specimens with mixed blood from a ghoul and a human. The characteristics of half-humans are closer to humans than ghouls. Like humans, they cannot manifest kagune nor kakugan, and are able to consume normal food. However, they differ from humans in that they have highly-developed physical capabilities due to their ghoulish heritage, and accelerated aging causing a shortened lifespan. All half-humans come from the Sunlit Garden, and as such are affiliated with the CCG to some degree. This is not to say that they cannot go rogue, however. The maximum age for a PC half-human is around 30. Those who wish to play a half-human may do so, but remember that your app will be looked at a bit closer and must be of a higher quality. Members of this race gain +5 points instead of the normal +3, but must have a form of ailment caused by their accelerated aging. It is left up to the player to decide what this entails.

One-Eyed Ghoul: A one-eyed ghoul is a human-ghoul hybrid that possesses a ghoul's abilities. Most ghouls treat their existence as an urban legend or have never heard of their existence at all. They are named such due to the fact that they have a single kakugan. Other ghouls may note that they smell off, with a portion of their scent belonging to a human and a portion belonging to a ghoul. Their flesh and blood has also been noted to taste delicious to other ghouls, making them a prime target for cannibals. A one-eyed ghoul is stronger than a normal ghoul due to hybrid vigor, and only grows stronger when exposed to severe damage. When injured, a one-eyed ghoul's body will repair itself by flowing Rc cells into the wound and stimulating regeneration. This in turn allows their Rc cells to move throughout their body at an increased rate, and allows them to form more of them. There are two known ways to become a one-eyed ghoul: You are either born one, or you (somehow) manage to survive a surgery which transplants a ghoul's kakahou into your body. The kakahou is the organ which stores Rc cells, and creates the kagune in a ghoul. This surgery requires a dice roll. If the roll is higher than 5, the surgery is a success and you may train for 1,000 words to unlock your new kagune. This kagune is the same as the original ghoul's, with no differences. If the surgery fails, you must do 2,000 words of recovery, or you run the risk of becoming 'floppy'. One-eyed ghouls gain +1 to all stats, and have the +2 present for when their kagune is active. Due to the rarity of this variant, only 5 are going to be allowed for now. This is subject to change.
